Portals Hills Boutique Hotel, designed by ICAZAR Architects, is the result of the remodeling and expansion of a hotel in Mallorca that has won various international awards. It represents a true example of art deco architecture, in particular the Miami South Beach style. Likewise, it reflects the quality standards of the USA and constitutes a new type of housing in Europe, since it is one of the first hotel-residences in the Old Continent. It houses 29 suites and 2 penthouses designed by the Finest Selection group. As part of the project, the area of ​​the old hotel was increased by 30 per cent to include a separate restaurant, which is linked to the hotel by an enlarged pool and bar area.

On entering the building, the gleaming white, smooth-surfaced façade is particularly striking, contrasting with the gleaming art deco elements, such as the massive gold canopy around the front door. wide white staircase highlights the glamor of Miami style.

With the floor-to-ceiling glazing, the extensive balcony and terrace surfaces that overlook the Mediterranean, and the new edge pool, the style of the railings used becomes, without a doubt, a key element in the design. Initially, the architects chose a transparent glass railing for both the exterior and interior. However, for the exterior balconies, the swimming pool and certain places inside the building, the clients were looking for a type of railing that, in addition to offering maximum transparency, presented a more elegant and decorative appearance.
