The Capernwray Bible School and Conference Centre is situated in an area of great natural beauty on the Cumbrian border in the UK. The project called for an outdoor bridge to the Conference Centre, an interior balustrade, a low wall, and a handrail on a staircase. The architects chose railing products as they felt they would create the right contemporary feel.

The outdoor footbridge makes use of the line baluster system, brackets, glass clamps, and a wooden handrail painted black. The combination of these elements makes for a totally unique look. line pre-fixed posts and square glass clamps with 10 mm glass infill were used to provide extra protection on top of a low parapet.

With its capacity of 80,000, Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund – also known as Westfalen Stadium – is the largest football stadium in Germany. In 2009, UK newspaper The Times voted it the best football stadium in the world. The article described the ground as a classic with great atmosphere – a stadium that was built for football where fans can express themselves.

Signal Iduna Park is home to Borussia Dortmund (BVB) football club. The club operates an incredible 7 different fan shops throughout the city of Dortmund. In mid-2014, the shop right next to the stadium was closed and replaced by a spectacular new FanWorld, situated on the other side of the stadium.

The new FanWorld not only sells merchandise and tickets, but also hosts events and provides a place to experience the BVB brand. It was important that the architectural design contributed to the brand experience without overpowering it. Transparency and safety were, of course, key. The installer for the project proposed glass railing systems as a solution for both the interior and exterior stairs and balustrades. In total, around 130 metres of railing were installed, including stunning balustrades with curved base shoes, glass and cap rails. A solution of this kind is a rarity within the world of railings.

Droylsden Academy is an outstanding school and a key contribution to the regeneration of Droylsden community (Manchester, UK). In January 2012 it moved to a new modern building that will comfortably accommodate 1,200 students.

The renovation of around 10,800 square meters of internal floor area began in May 2010 and was completed by December 2011. The project required the installation of 9 staircases, 6 atrium void areas, 2 mezzanine levels, and 1 external balcony area. Installer P&W Site Fixing selected railing products for this important project. The requirement included handrails, baluster brackets, wall flanges, triangular base covers, and adjustable connectors. The Droylsden Academy students now benefit from attractively decorated and inspiring spaces. Design in support of learning!

Coventry University in the UK is an innovative public research institution with a reputation for excellence. To support its vision of continuous improvement, the university was investing in development of its city campus. The on-going construction work included refurbishment of the Jaguar Building. This is a modern learning hub for graduate students. Tri-Dev, a -railing recommended installer, was awarded two construction tasks. Firstly, they were asked to install a new staircase and balustrade that wrapped around the atrium. The second task was the refurbishment of an existing staircase.

Tri-Dev’s solution brought together a combination of high-quality stainless steel and glass products. They installed a frameless Glass balustrade that extended over 80 meters. Hardened glass and a cap rail of stainless steel were used. As a result, the atrium gained a powerful sense of light and open space.
