Raffles Park is a gated community in Bengaluru, the third most populous city in India. It consists of 61 spacious villas that blend contemporary tropical design from Singapore with the love of green spaces so typical of the Bangalore region. The villas are designed to make maximum use of natural light, giving you the feeling of living amidst nature, whether you are indoors or outdoors. The designs are collaboration between renowned Indian architect Karan Grover, and the Singapore-based WOW Architects. It is an inspired pairing. Whereas Karan Grover is at the global cutting edge of green design and construction, WOW are renowned for their visionary approach to projects in the hospitality, commercial, residential and retail sectors worldwide.

The architects had very clear requirements for the atrium and balcony railings at Raffles Park. In order to create that feeling of being surrounded by nature, maximum transparency would be required, together with a high level of safety. railing’s Glass the rectangular shaped glass adapters of the system were natural choices. Both are quick and easy to install, which means big savings during construction.

In the grand atrium, arched wooden stairways provide a truly thought-provoking artistic design. To properly ensure the marriage of performance and aesthetic consistency, the architects chose to line the stairs with glass railings. The design called for 1200 feet of our glass balustrade and 400 feet of the Glass system on the stairs and adjacent galleries. Top-mounted base shoes were specified, 160 feet of which required custom 2D and 3D bends.

Each of the apartments above ground-floor level has a protruding balcony, which is surrounded by a line railing with stainless steel posts and handrails and glass infills. For added safety, laminated glass has been used. The glass is slightly tinted to provide privacy, while maintaining a high degree of transparency.

High-grade stainless steel MOD 26 glass clamps were included in the railing design, as they allow glass infills to be mounted without drilling through them. At the corners, MOD 22 glass connectors have been used to create a safe and strong connection.
